K-Pop Festival KCON: Το TACT προσελκύει περισσότερους από 4.8 εκατομμύρια θεατές για να καθοδηγήσει μελλοντικές μουσικές εκδηλώσεις

KCON:TACT 2020 Summer, the first-ever digital iteration of the annual K-pop festival KCON that has held court in Los Angeles since 2012, wrapped with an impression amount of viewers and interactions after its seven-day run.

KCON reports that more than 4.81 million viewers tuned in from 152 countries through their weeklong live stream festival. As of Monday (June 29) morning, content from KCON:TACT had earned more than 15.1 million views so far.

K-pop acts like Monsta X, (G)I-DLE, ATEEZ, LOONA, AB6IX, EVERGLOW, The Boyz and SF9—who all had plans to either tour or visit overseas for tours or other activities abroad—were able to instead greet fans via these live stream performances as well as via behind-the-scenes footage backstage, member-focused fancams, and 360-degree VR peeks inside artist green rooms.

Numbers-wise, the festival brought together a total of 33 artists to deliver more than 600 paid and free content. Fans could pay for $19.99 for a month-long access to the paid content on the Mnet K-Pop YouTube channel, with a portion of viewers possibly continuing their subscription for that monthly fee. That channel membership feature marked the first time YouTube introduced the feature for a Korean channel thanks to KCON:TACT.

No doubt the combination of tech-savvy performances as well as creating intimate moments between viewers and artists with additional content can act as a guide for future digital festivals as coronavirus concerns continue to make the future of live-music events uncertain.
